About HQMAasim

My name is Mohammad Aasim Mirza. The HQ stands for Ḥāfiẓ, Qārī, and I am an academically trained Islamic scholar and serve as an itinerant Imam throughout the UK.

In addition to being an established Ḥāfiẓ, Qārī and Imām, I have a joint honours BA in History and the Study of Religions from the world renown School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. I am currently back at SOAS reading an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy.

Professionally, I am a Civil Servant and have worked in various Government Departments; I currently working as a Strategy & Policy professional in the UK Ministry of Defence.

Apart from the aforementioned occupations, I am the Director of Nasihah — an Islamic consultancy — and the Chairman of The Ulfath Foundation, a non-profit organisation that seeks to provide aid to the less fortunate and vulnerable communities, particularly those affected by natural disasters in Pakistan.
